AWS re:Invent session guide 2022
Amazon re:Invent is approaching fast. Session registration has been open already for several weeks and some sessions are filled up or is filling up fast. There has been several posts about great serverless sessions to view, check out the guide by Luc van Donkersgoed and Sheen Brisals they are both great and have some good serverless sessions in their guides. Thank you both for the inspiration.
I decided to create my own list with focus on IoT an area where, except for serverless, I spend most of my time. A session guide isn’t complete without a look at keynotes and leadership sessions as well.
Overview
Before jumping into sessions, let’s take a brief look at the conference agenda and some the events coming this year.
Breakfast
Is served Tuesday to Friday from 06.30 till 08.30. Make sure you fuel up for a day full of learning. Unfortunately, there is no breakfast serving on Monday, I would recommend hitting Eggslut in Cosmopolitan for some killer egg sandwiches.
Lunch
Is served Monday till Thursday 11.00am till 1.00pm make sure you eat something; the boxed lunches are normally really good if you feel there is no time to sit down. I however recommend taking the time to sit down and eat, you will meet so many people during lunch.
Content
Including keynotes are running from early morning 8.00am till late evening every day. If you ever feel that you have time on your hands there is always the “self paced labs” to check out it’s really good and I highly recommend it. Or if you are like me, you just hang around the “Hallway track” to talk with people from all around the world.
Peertalk
New this year is PeerTalk, that run from early morning till around 7.00pm. This new thing looks really interesting and is an organized way to meet with great and fun people. Still not much information on the reinvent page but I will keep you all updated!
Parties and fun
There is always a party and fun thing to do. I would check out things like the Ping Pong tournament. Welcome reception on Monday evening, Restaurant Receptions on Tuesday and Wednesday. If you are certified, you don’t want to miss the Certification Appreciation Reception on Thursday. And of course! The huge re:Play party on Thursday night is something you don’t want to miss!
Relax and rewind
Catching your breath is always needed. I recommend that you unwind in the Certification Lounge, if you are certified. Also, when visiting the Certification Lounge don’t forget to talk with the certification staff about becoming a SME. I have been a certification SME for several years and it’s super rewarding!!
Must see
These are the keynotes and sessions that I think you don't want to miss.
